Recently, leaders from across the IT industry gathered at Chicago’s SharePoint Fest for three days of comprehensive training and learning seminars. SharePoint Fest Chicago, which ran from October 7-9, allowed executives and industry thought-leaders to exchange the latest information related to topics such as enterprise content management, infrastructure and administration.  The Fest featured keynote addresses by Microsoft Director Steve Fox and MVP Dan Holme.  The conference also boasted more than 80 classes and workshops taught by Microsoft certified trainers, engineers and MVPs.

One of the most pressing administration issues that executives currently face, which was explored at the conference, has to do with asset tracking.  In today’s difficult economic climate, it is more important than ever for a company to keep track of its physical assets.  However, managing a large group of employees and properties is much easier said than done.  This has created the need for a simple solution to what has become a complex, expensive and labor-intensive task.
